What is St. Eugene CYO Basketball?
It is a competitive basketball league. It is a not-for-profit program run by volunteers, coached by parent volunteers. St. Eugene teams play teams from other North Bay parishes that make up the North Bay CYO League.
Travel may include some or all of the following depending on teams in your child's division. Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Napa, Ukiah or Tomales.
Who can play?
All 3rd through 8th grade boys and girls can play.
How does it work?
Boys and girls play on separate teams, based on their grade in school. All players’ skills are evaluated through skill assessments. 3rd grade teams are picked evenly (by skill) by coaches. 3rd grade teams do not participate in post season playoffs. 4th through 8th grade teams are selected by skill level by coaches and independent evaluators and placed in divisions based on grade and skill level. Teams will compete against same grade and division (skill level) teams from the CYO program. The four teams with the best record in each division of each grade participate in post season playoffs.
How do I join?
Sign-ups begin online August 27th and run through September 23rd.
There will be NO Walk-up registrations. All registration will be taken online only.
Space is limited, but we try to accommodate everyone. Returning players will be given first priority for placement on a team.3rd graders and non returning players will be prioritized by the following:
1. Members of the Parish
2. Students at St. Eugene School
3. Siblings of returning players.
We reserve the right to refund registration fees if a player cannot be accommodated.
When does it start?
Skill assessments are scheduled for early October @ Maria Carrillo High School. Times TBD. You will only attend 1 assessment.
Practices start week of November 5, and the season runs from December through early March (approximately 10 games).
Costs?The program has grown to nearly 45 teams, both girls and boys. We continue to try to improve our teams with better coaching and improved equipment and practice facilities.
Fees will not increase for the 2012-2013 Season.
$ 215.00 for one player (4th - 8th Grade).
$ 185.00 for each additional player per family (4th - 8th Grade).
$ 185.00 3rd Grade Player.
2 Adult and 1 child's ticket are included for the Pancake Breakfast on November, 18. Additional Tickets may be purchased at the door the day of the breakfast. Thanks for your understanding.
